After waiting about and hour and a half in the 98 degree hot Orlando Florida sun I finally got to meet Of Mice & Men. I had drawn this for Austin Carlile a few days earlier because he is an absolutely amazing person.
I was so worried about giving this to him because as I kept looking at it I kept seeing all of my mistakes and then to add on to my nerves a girl two people in front of me gave the band an AMAZING canvas painting that there was no way I could beat it. After my friends in front of me got their stuff signed I finally got the nerve up to give it to him and told him that I knew it wasn’t as great as the girl with the canvas painting. but he seemed twice as thrilled to get this for some reason. he showed Alan who was sitting next to him and Alan was just as surprised at it.
Austin then proceeded to ask me to sign my drawing for him, I did so in complete disbelief and with incredibly shaky hands, and I had to try and remember my name.
After I signed it for him he got up and hugged me and whispered in my ear “This is one of the best gifts from a fan I’ve ever gotten, thank you so much you are so incredibly talented”
And after recovering from the shock I walked away knowing that Austin Carlile is, in fact, of the most amazing people ever.
